Squirrels came up for their last chance in the bottom of the 9th, still down 1-0. Lo and behold,
they get a man on with a double. The next batter hits an easy fly ball to left center field where
the Left and Center Fielders fail to communicate and the ball drops in. Now, with the Squirrels
down to their last out, the batter is Jeff Arnold, the light hitting veteran catcher who is sort of a
combination of 2nd string catcher and coach, not known as an offensive threat. And what
does he do but crush a ball to right center field for a double, scoring both runners and winning
the game for the Squirrels as they all come rushing out of the dugout to congratulate Arnold
out by 2nd base, and sending those few of us still in attendance home in a good mood, having
witnessed a win by the home team. A nice ending to a nice evening.
Thanks to our Platinum sponsors ServiceMaster Clean, Trolley House, and particularly
ServPro for making their box available, all of whom contributed to making it a very special
event for us.
Photos of our incoming Board as well as Nutasha and Nutsy. I’ll leave it to you to figure out which is which.
