ZertoTools for Linux Script
Zerto continues to support ZertoTools for Linux when failing over VMs with Linux operating systems to AWS. In order to use ZertoTools for Linux on VMs running RHEL or CentOS versions lower than 7.4, you must:

Manually upgrade the kernel on VMs running RHEL or CentOS versions 7.0-7.3. |
|
•
|
Manually upgrade the kernel and then download and install the ENA driver on VMs running RHEL or CentOS versions lower than 7.0. |
The ZertoTools for Linux script should be executed on the protected virtual machine. The tool enables the following:

•
|
Changes the network configuration of the virtual machine on the recovered AWS site. |
|
•
|
Saves a backup of the network configuration before failing over to AWS. |
|
•
|
Initializes the following pre-installed drivers: |
|
•
|
ENA (RHEL and CentOS verions 7.0 and higher) |
To execute the ZertoTools for Linux script:

1.
|
Login to myZerto to access the ZertoTools for Linux script from myZerto > Support & Downloads > Tools > ZertoTools for Linux Script. |
|
2.
|
Create a new folder on the protected VM running a Linux operating system. |
|
3.
|
Copy all files from the "ZertoTools for Linux" folder to the new folder. |
|
4.
|
Make sure the syntax is in Unix format. If not, run the following: |
|

|
Use vi to edit ZertoTools.sh. Write : :set ff=unix" and press Enter. To save and exit run :wq. |
|
•
|
Use vi to edit reiphandler.sh. Write: ":set ff=unix" and press Enter. To save and exit run :wq. |
|
5.
|
Run the following commands: |
|
•
|
For granting execution permissions to the script: chmod +x ./ZertoTools.sh |
|
•
|
For executing the script: ./ZertoTools.sh |
|
6.
|
Before failing over, make sure the changes were applied to the selected checkpoint by waiting ~20 minutes or by performing a force sync. |
|
7.
|
Run Fail Over or Move operation. |
