INTRO PLAYERS COACHES OPPONENTS REVIEW RECORDS STAFF HISTORY Page 73 Aaron Bell (Pittsburg State ’03) Wide Receivers 8th season at MWSU Hometown: Kansas City, Mo. Aaron Bell is entering his eighth season with the Griffons as the Wide Receivers Coach. This past season he coached Honorable Mention All-MIAA selections Kyle Knox and Tyron Crockom. The Griffon receivers caught 219 passes for 2,718 yards and 31 touchdowns. Knox and Crockom led the way with 44 receptions apiece. Knox had 670 yards with two touchdowns while Crockom had 465 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2011, Bell coached Honorable Mention All-MIAA selection Tarrell Downing. The Griffon receivers caught 157 passes for 1,807 yards. Downing caught 28 passes for 489 yards and six touchdowns while Adam Clausen caught 22 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns. In 2010, Bell coached All-MIAA Second Team kick returner Tarrell Downing and All-MIAA Honorable Mention selection Andrew Mead. Mead tied the school record for most receiving touchdowns in a game with three against Lincoln on September 9, 2010. Mead finished the season with 62 receptions and 852 yards. He had 12 touchdown catches. He had four games with over 100 yards receiving, with his highest mark coming on October 9, 2010, against Truman State when he had nine receptions for 166 yards. Missouri Western receivers caught 233 passes for 2,944 yards and 27 touchdowns in 2010. In 2009, Bell coached All-MIAA First Team selection and D2Football.com Honorable Mention All-America selection Cedric Houston. Houston broke the single season record for most touchdowns in a season with 15. Bell’s receivers caught 226 balls for 3,151 yards and 32 touchdowns in 2009. They averaged 13.9 yards per receptions and averaged 262.6 yards per game through the air which was 60 yards better than its opponents. Bell helped coach two All-MIAA performers in 2008 (Andrew Mead and Cedric Houston). Bell came to Missouri Western from Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kan., where he was the Defensive Backs Coach for two years. Bell is a graduate of Pittsburg State University and a two-year letter winner as a wide receiver. He also received a letter for time spent at Southwest Missouri State University and Fort Scott Community College. Bell and his wife, Renee, have four children.
