INTRO PLAYERS COACHES OPPONENTS REVIEW RECORDS STAFF HISTORY Page 9 The Griffons hosted seven football games last season and went 6-1 at home, which included the first home playoff victory in Spratt Stadium. The Griffons went 5-0 in 2003, 4-0 in 2006 and 6-0 in 2010 at home. The Griffons’ largest crowd of 2012 came on September 15 in a 38-14 victory over the University of Nebraska-Kearney. In 2011 the crowd of 8,881 against #3 Northwest Missouri State on November 5 was the 3rd largest home crowd since 1989. In 2009, the game against Northwest Missouri State drew a record crowd of 10,129 fans at Spratt Stadium. That broke the previous all-time attendance record which was set in 2007 as 9,007 fans saw the Griffons take on Northwest. Last season the Griffons averaged 4,740 fans per home game. With construction of several new amenities, the Spratt Stadium Complex continues to be one of the best venues in the MIAA. Below illustrates the various projects that have been completed in the last seven years. Spratt Stadium Renovation Timeline - Summer 2006 - A Pro-Grass surface replaces the natural grass playing field. - June 2009 - Ground breaks on the Griffon Indoor Sports Complex. - October 2009 - 2,500 new seats are added to the north side of the stadium. - June 2010 - Construction concludes on new restrooms and concession stands in the northeast corner of the stadium. - July 2010 - The Griffon Indoor Sports Complex, as well as two brand new bermuda grass practice fields, are complete. - August 2010 - A state-of-the art Daktronics sound system is installed. - August 2013 - Plans are unveiled for an LED message/marquee board to be displayed on the south side of the Griffon Indoor Sports Complex.
