SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS Here at Fayetteville State University, it doesn’t matter whether your future is local, carries you throughout the region, or even leads you around the globe, we take our role seriously in preparing you to meet the challenges of the business world. Our curricular programs and small class sizes will provide you with the opportunity to enhance your communication, technological, and problem-solving skills. You will also have many opportunities to get to know your professors both inside and outside of the classroom and hone your team-building and leadership skills through our student organizations. More importantly, our accreditation by AACSB International, the premier accrediting agency for business programs around the world, points to the quality of the education that you will receive here within the SBE. The School of Business and Economics is dedicated to providing a quality business education to a diverse student population. The School prepares students to meet the challenges of a changing environment and to compete in a global market. This is accomplished by supplementing the University’s strong teaching emphasis with research and a curriculum that refl ects changing market conditions. The School also assists in regional economic transformation by promoting entrepreneurial and economic education. THE GRADUATE SCHOOL The Graduate School coordinates the activities of the University’s post-baccalaureate degree programs and to ensure that all post-baccalaureate degree and non-degree programs offered in the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business and Economics, and the School of Education are of the highest quality. We are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service and to preparing our graduates to lead meaningful and productive lives as agents of change in shaping the future of America and the world. The Graduate School offers one doctoral degree (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership and seven master degrees with concentrations and specializations in many academic areas: 1) Master of School Administration; 2) Master of Arts; 3) Master of Arts in Teaching; 4) Master of Education; 5) Master of Business Administration; 6) Master of Science; and 7) Master of Social Work (MSW). Concentrations and specializations are offered in areas such as education, sociology, psychology, biology, mathematics, and criminal justice. All graduate programs at Fayetteville State University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), and many programs hold specialized accreditation within their academic disciplines. OFFICE OF EXTENDED EDUCATION The Offi ce of Extended Learning and Summer Programs and Fayetteville State University are committed to providing a quality educational experience for our online learners. An online degree-completion (ODC) student is one who takes at least 75% of upper-division coursework online. In many instances, ODC students also take courses at night or via interactive television. Since FSU only offers our upper-division (junior and senior level) courses online, ODC students must already have completed the University College Core Curriculum, or be dual enrolled with a partnering community college. We offer undergraduate online degree-completion programs in Business Administration, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Fire Science, Nursing, Psychology, Sociology, as well as an online MBA and a graduate degree in Criminal Justice.
