| 2022 Honor Our Fallen Heroes 10th Annual Recognition |
On Saturday, 8 October, and in conjunction with the Navy vs. Tulsa home football game, the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association & Foundation (USNA AA&F) will host our annual Honor Our Fallen Heroes event. The event recognizes the families of alumni killed in action or lost in military operations. This year marks 10 years since our first Honor Our Fallen Heroes event. To commemorate this milestone, the USNA AA&F will hold a memorial service in Memorial Hall at the U.S. Naval Academy. After the service, families are invited to attend a pre-game luncheon at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium followed by the game against Tulsa at 3:30 p.m. EDT. |

| Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month |
Each year, USNA AA&F observes National Hispanic Heritage Month from 15 September through 15 October. Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro ’83 chose his alma mater to deliver his 2022 Hispanic Heritage Month Message noting the many contributions of the Hispanic sailors and Marines who have served throughout the history of our services. The tradition of observing Hispanic heritage began in 1968, when President Lyndon B. Johnson designated a week in mid-September as National Hispanic Heritage Week. Twenty years later in 1988, President Ronald Reagan extended that week to a month-long observance. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube all month long as we highlight our Hispanic alumni and contributions they make to our world. |
