One of my favourite hip hop albums is Drake & Future's album What A Time To Be Alive. Metro Boomin's beats on that album gave me the confidence to try my hand at making hip hop music. Similar Future type beats like "Mask Off" which were also produced by Metro Boomin provided a direction of how to produce beats for an artist like Future. But I wanted to put my own spin on things, so I started experimenting with different type beats. I would download type beats and free type beats, and then add my own touches to create something unique. The type beat with hook was my favourite to work on, as it allowed me to be creative and really capture the essence of the artist I was producing for. And now, thanks to Metro Boomin, I'm able to produce my own type beats and share them with the world.

The type beat genre within hip hop is a debatable topic. Some music producers think it’s a great way of explaining a specific instrumental to hip hop artists. While other producers feel that you are stealing the sound of another producer. There is no getting around the fact that when rap artists go online looking for rap instrumentals they usually look for a specific rap artist followed by the words "TYPE BEAT"..OR "ARTISTS NAME TYPE BEATS"? type beats with hooks help an artist understand how the instrumental should sound with their vocals. It gives them a chance to see if the instrumental will fit their style before they spend money on purchasing it.

I had a lot of fun making this hip hop instrumental. I was inspired by Future's type of music, and I also took inspiration from other artists like The Migos, Drake, Travis Scott, etc. This type of beat is perfect for rappers who are looking for a similar style to Future's type of music. The beat is relatively simple, with a trap type of feel to it. I looped the beat 2x so that you can get a feel for the beat without having to rewind the instrumental. See the instrumental time stamps 【00:01】 below for more information about how I laid the structure of the beat down. Overall, I'm really happy with how this beat turned out and I hope you enjoy it as well!

Its also a way for unsigned or upcoming artist to spit on mainstream instrumentals and get their name out there without spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars. The big problem with type beats is that a lot of artists will use them and not credit the producer, which can be very frustrating. Another downside is that some type beats can sound very similar to others because they use the same samples or melodies. So, in conclusion, the type beat genre is a double edged sword. It has its pros and cons but ultimately its up to the artist to decide if its something they want to use.
