How To Become A Sidemount Technical Scuba Diver Course

How do I become a Sidemount instructor

If you are interested in the SDI course, we will teach it. By default, however we also offer the TDI. You can take this course as a standalone, however our students often combine it with our Apprentice Cave Diver program.

Sidemount Diver was by far the most challenging course I have ever taken. However, my instructor Fiona at Big Blue Tech (a trusted dive center) and Big Blue Tech (my instructor) included a lot of skills and dives in my course. We made sure to keep my task load manageable and practiced many skills including tank removal underwater, mask and tank replacement, out of the air drills, and many others while trying to stay in top trim.

They are not issued unless earned. Not just taking part in the course does NOT guarantee certification. For cave courses certification cards may be available from multiple training agencies. C-cards can be purchased for around $30 depending on their agency. An instructor will be able to tell you more.

Sidemount Diver Specialty dives may count toward Advanced Open Water Diver certification. Ask an instructor.

Give the gift of adventure and share the experience. PADI eLearning can now be purchased and shared with a chosen recipient. It doesn’t matter if the course is being purchased as a present or you wish to make it available to family members.

Computer-aided instruction is an integral aspect of almost all courses we teach. The Why? The simple answer is that eLearning allows students to get in the water faster and spend more time there. This is why we include any applicable eLearning program -- typically a $140 value -- in all our courses at no extra cost. This is equivalent to an additional day's in-water training. This is what it's worth. Priceless.

Penetrations

Decompression divers can dive to depths of 130ft. They can add Helium to their cylinders, and then they will be able to explore the world of the rare. They often visit the wrecks and reefs less often than astronauts to Mars every year.

There are several more agencies that provide technical diver training which are more region specific. In general the recommendation is to find a reputable instructor, look for recommendations from trusted sources and choose your instructor accordingly. Trust and comfort during the course are invaluable and will help you to feel confident and comfortable to push your boundaries and gain the knowledge you need to go beyond your current certification level.
