Shell island beach was visited twice by us. The first time we paid $7.50 to park on the "island". We drove a bit further along the coast to Llanddwywe, where we found a public parking lot. It is a beautiful, clean beach.

Shell Island takes between 10 and 25 minutes. It all depends on the water conditions and how you get there. You should only try to get to Shell Island via boat or jet ski, as the currents can be too strong to paddle board to the island.

You can also paddle along the shorelines at St. Andrews State Park, and visit the Lower Grand Lagoon or Sandy Point. You can also plan a day on Shell Island by renting a kayak. This package includes tickets for the Shell Island Shuttle and a kayak that will be ready when you arrive on the island.
