Shell Island Florida Tour
Among the many things to do in Panama City Beach Florida, there is one standout that should not be missed. At the far south end of the long stretch of resort hotels and condominiums lining the white sands of Panama City Beach, Shell Island which is located across from St. Andrews State Park offers a surprisingly pristine slice of Florida coastline to beach lovers and outdoor adventurers.
The 3 hour tour was incredible! Captain ensured we saw dolphins and took us to the top of a shipwreck. The kids had a great time snorkeling on Shell Island. No matter what age, it is highly recommended.
Shell Island, a barrier island in the Emerald Coast of Florida, is undeveloped. It measures around 7 miles, from east to west. It is composed of gracefully sand-dunes, pine hammocks, shrub forest, and other natural features. It is home to both shorebirds, and deer. Shell Island is home for a variety crabs, endangered species, and coastal wildlife because it has a protected shore.

Shell Island is a nature preserve with no restrooms or any other visitor facilities such as trash receptacles, picnic tables, or shade pavilions. There is no trash removal service. Island visitors are asked to be responsible and take everything they bring to the Island with them when they leave.
It is usually referred to as a barrier island that separates the waters of St. Andrews Bay from the Gulf of Mexico. But strictly speaking, it is now a peninsula rather than an island. Shell Island was an actual island in the past, right after the St.
This island is not as secluded as you see on the pictures and we couldn't find any of the cool shells either. (I understand that it's nature and can't be controlled).
Shell Island is seven miles of undeveloped scenery between the Gulf and St. Andrew Bay. At one point, Shell Island was inhabited by Native Americans, Spanish Settlers, and even pirates.
