These are wild animals doing what they enjoy in their natural habitat. The way they behave and the mood of their encounters will determine how we interact with them. While encounters do happen quite frequently, it is not possible to guarantee their success. The laws of The Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1992 and any subsequent amendments, as well the laws of Florida, are binding. We are prohibited from harassing dolphins or feeding them, and we enforce this rule very strictly. Thank you for understanding.
On the Shell Island Cruise Seafari Boat Tour, you will experience the Historic Grand Lagoon. Look out for wildlife and aquatic wonders as well as seashells. Shell Island is a great place to relax, swim, shell, picnic or just enjoy the island. Book your Shell Island Cruise Seafari Boat Tour Today to make unforgettable memories!

Dolphins live in the wild in their natural environment. They are not kept in tanks and they do not have to be kept in a cage. You should wear polarized sunglasses in order to avoid the harsh glare of the water and better appreciate the beauty of wild dolphins. It is extremely rare for us not to see the dolphins.
We love our dolphins and want them all to prosper for future generations. We wish they were as excited as we to see them. Unfortunately, they would be fed by people on boats which is illegal, and ultimately, dangerous, for the dolphins.

Since 1999, Shell Island Snorkeling on the Island Time is a Panama City Beach staple. TripAdvisor has rated us the top Things To Do in Panama City Beach for St. Andrews State Park trips and tours to Shell Island.
You can have fun on the Panama City Beach Adventure Catamaran Sail for approximately 3 hours. Start with a sailing cruise along St. Andrews Bay, to reach the best spots along Shell Island depending on the weather conditions. The "Island Time", which is a stable, wide sailing catamaran that can be sailed in calm water, will be anchored in 5 feet of water. Here you can snorkel around Shell Island and search for seashells. Take a look at our stand-up paddleboards and make a splash on our water slide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Snorkeling is safe and easy for people of all ages. One of the best things about Shell Island is that the calm shallow water behind the jetty is the perfect place for first-time snorkelers to try the sport.

Though the area boasts an average of 320 days of sunshine per year, late spring, summer and early fall offer some of the warmest air and water temperatures. Plus, by avoiding a visit in March or April, you'll dodge the deluge of college students who descend on the area's ivory sands every year for spring break.

Agree with above, go around 11 a.m., to get the best of daytime sun, because April has some fairly cool days. over a year ago. I'd plan for late morning/early afternoon. There's no shade so if it is really warm you don't want to be there at the absolute hottest part of the day.

This island is not as secluded as you see on the pictures and we couldn't find any of the cool shells either. (I understand that it's nature and can't be controlled).
