Shell Island is a nature preserve without any restrooms or other visitor facilities, such as trash bins, picnic tables or shade pavilions. There is no trash collection service. Island visitors are expected to take all their trash with them when they leave the Island.

It is worth the effort once you reach it. This is some of my favorite water spots. It's almost like swimming in a pool. We were unsure what to expect so we decided to spend some time on the island. Expect to spend the whole day there!

Day visits are available from 8am to 8pm depending on tide, so there is plenty of time for you to explore, enjoy, and relax. Day visits are not allowed if the Camp site is full. This is for safety and health reasons.
