FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As one of their largest financial investments people usually have a plenty of questions prior to coming to a conclusion , listed here are a number of the most common ones…

Unless you’re a properly trained roofing professional, the majority of roofing jobs should never be performed yourself. Also remember that almost all manufacturers of products utilized in the roof repair won’t warranty those items unless a licensed professional carries out the job. The other thing to remember is that working on a roof is going to be very dangerous, so is it really worth endangering your health for you to save money?

It would be really good if we could give you a straight forward answer to that question! But there actually is no single answer that fits all for each question like that. There are many different products available and each will have its own benefits and faults. To figure out which is the right roof for your home, you should have a professional come and examine your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they observe, the type of roof you have, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It actually depends upon the kind of roof and what inspections are required. Also, keep in mind that we’re working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on certain days then this will certainly add more time to the task. A smaller home might take about a week or so, while much larger commercial jobs might be anything from a few weeks to a few months. Just make certain your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Since your roof is continuously subjected to the outside elements, it means your roof is will degrade over time. The pace at which it breaks down will depend on a range of factors. These include; the quality of the original materials used and the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the design of the roof. Most roofing companies will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but obviously that can never be promised because of the above factors. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You shouldn’t ever pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of removing any protective materials that have been included to give protection from the elements. On top of that, you really should try to stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they can easily also cut down the life of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning professional, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will eliminate the unappealing algae and yellowing without destroying the tile or shingles.
