FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As one of their biggest expenditures people typically have a number of questions prior to makingany decisions , listed here are a number of the more commonplace ones…

Unless you’re a properly trained roofing professional, the majority of roofing work shouldn’t be carried out yourself. Also remember that almost all manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the work. Something else to remember is that working on a roof is going to be very hazardous, so is it really worth endangering your health so you can save money?

It would be great if we could give you a simple answer to that question! However, there actually is no one answer that fits all for each question like that. There are many different products available and each has its own advantages and faults. To know which is the right roof for you, you should have a professional come and check out your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they find, the type of roof you have, the climate you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It really depends on the kind of roof and exactly what surveys are needed. Also, bear in mind that we’re working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we cannot work on particular days then this will definitely add more time to the task. A small home may take about a week or so, while much larger industrial projects can be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just ensure that your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Considering that your roof is consistently exposed to the outside elements, this means your roof is going to break down gradually. The pace at which it breaks down will be dependent on a variety of factors. Those include; the quality of the initial materials that were used along with the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the type of roof. Most roofing companies will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but obviously that can never be guaranteed because of the above issues. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

You shouldn’t ever pressure wash your roof, as you take the risk of getting rid of any protective materials that have been added to give cover from the weather. Also, you really should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they can also reduce the lifespan of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning professional, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will eliminate the ugly algae and discoloration without damaging the tile or shingles.

More About Clarksville, IN

Clarksville is a town in Clark County, Indiana, United States, along the Ohio River and is a part of the Louisville Metropolitan area. The population was 21,724 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1783 by early resident George Rogers Clark[6] at the only seasonal rapids on the entire Ohio River, it is the oldest American town in the former Northwest Territory. The town is home to the Colgate clock, one of the largest clocks in the world and the Falls of the Ohio State Park, home to the world’s largest exposed Devonian period fossil bed.

The site that would become Clarksville was first used as a base of operations by George Rogers Clark during the American Revolution. In 1778 he established a post on an island at the head of the Falls of the Ohio, from which he trained his 175-man regiment for the defense to the west. After the war, Clark was granted a tract of 150,000 acres (610 km2) for his services in the war. In 1783, 1,000 acres (4 km2) were set aside for the development of a town, Clarksville. The same year a stockade was built and settlement began.[7]

Some roofing system leaks are difficult to locate. Often the water shows up at a ceiling spot distant from the leakage. If your ceiling has a plastic vapor barrier in between the drywall and the attic insulation, press the insulation aside and search for flow discolorations on the plastic. Often water runs to openings in the vapor barrier, such as at ceiling lighting fixture.

Wetness that escapes into the cold attic from the rooms below often condenses on cold nails. Sometimes you can identify this if you go up into your attic on a cold night. The nails will look white since they’re frosted. When the attic heats up a bit throughout the day, the frost melts and drips, then the nails frost up in the evening again and so on.
