FAQs
As one of their largest financial investments people always have a number of questions prior to coming to a conclusion , listed here are some of the more common ones…
Unless you are a qualified contractor, most roofing work should never be carried out yourself. In addition remember that almost all manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a certified roofing contractor carries out the work. The other thing to remember is that working on a roof can be very hazardous, so is it really worth risking your health in order to save money?
It would be fantastic if we could give you a simple answer to this question! However, there really is no single answer that fits all for each question like that. There are so many unique products readily available and each has its own benefits and disadvantages. To know which is the best roof for you, you should have an expert come and take a look at your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they have seen, your roof design, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It really is dependent on the type of roof and what surveys are required. Also, bear in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on certain days then this will definitely add time to the job. A smaller home might take around a week or so, while more substantial industrial projects can be anything from a few weeks to a few months. Just make sure your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Considering that your roof is continuously exposed to the weather, this means your roof is will degrade with time. The pace at which it breaks down will be dependent on a variety of variables. Those include; the grade of the initial materials that were used along with the workmanship, the level of abuse it will have to take from the weather, how well the roof is maintained and the type of roof. Most roofing contractors will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be guaranteed due to the above factors. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure-wash your roof, as you take the risk of eliminating any covering minerals that have been included to provide protection from the weather. In addition, you really should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they can easily also cut down the life of your roof. When you speak to your roof cleaning professional, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will remove the unsightly algae and discoloration without destroying the tile or shingles.

Naturally, over time the roofing system starts to damage from continued weather battering. A structurally sound roofing does not crumble at one time but rather falls apart piece by piece along its weak lines. Roofing system examinations identify these vulnerable points early prior to they spread and trigger extreme damage to part or the whole roof.
Roofing evaluations at regular periods root out roof issues before they can even manifest themselves; extending the lifespan of your roofing. Many property owners only pay attention to their roofs when there is visible damage, such as leaks and structural failure. Reality is, with regular examination such problems are typically averted.

Roofing inspections conserve you both money and time and are one of one of the most standard roofing maintenance practices. There are a number of factors that can cause a roofing system’s condition to degrade with time. These are the results house owners are least familiar with because the signs are subtle and require time to show.: Weather condition components are the main cause of roofing system damage.
The weather gradually wears away and wears down the roofing product, and put strain onto the roof structure. Poor or lack of roofing system maintenance practices such as cleaning, painting, mold removal and snow scraping contribute to the wearing down of the roof. Not all roof professionals are as good as marketed. Due to lack of ability or simply negligence, a roof is poorly installed, affecting its efficiency as a roof and its strength to damage.
