FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being one of their largest financial investments people always have a bunch of questions before coming to a conclusion , below are some of the more commonplace ones…
Unless you’re a certified contractor, most roofing tasks really should not be carried out yourself. Additionally keep in mind that a large number of manufacturers of products used in the roof repair won’t warranty those products unless a licensed professional performs the job. Something else to always remember is that working on a roof can be very hazardous, so is it really worth endangering your health so you can save money?
It would be really good if we could give you a simple answer to this question! However there really is no single answer that fits all for every question like that. There are several different products readily available and each one has its own benefits and faults. To know which is the best roof for you, you should have a contractor come and examine your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they observe, your roof design, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.
It actually depends on the type of roof and exactly what evaluations are needed. Also, keep in mind that we’re working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we can’t work on certain days then this will definitely add time to the task. A small home might take around a week or so, while much larger industrial projects may be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just see to it your roofing company keeps you updated and you should be fine.
Because your roof is continuously subjected to the weather, it means your roof is going to break down with time. The rate at which it degrades will depend upon a number of factors. Those include; the grade of the initial components used as well as the workmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the design of the roof. Most roofing professionals will quote around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but that can never be promised as a result of the above factors. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure-wash your roof, as you take the risk of eliminating any covering minerals that have been added to give protection from the weather. Also, you should stay clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they can easily also diminish the lifespan of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning expert, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will remove the undesirable algae and discoloration without destroying the tile or shingles.

More About Tarpon Springs, FL
Tarpon Springs is a city in Pinellas County, Florida, United States. The population was 23,484 at the 2010 census.[6] Tarpon Springs has the highest percentage of Greek Americans of any city in the US.[7] Downtown Tarpon has long been a focal point and is currently undergoing beautification.[8]
The region, with a series of bayous feeding into the Gulf of Mexico, was first settled by white and black farmers and fishermen around 1876. Some of the newly arrived visitors spotted tarpon jumping out of the waters and so named the location Tarpon Springs. In 1882, Hamilton Disston, who in the previous year had purchased the land where the city of Tarpon Springs now stands, ordered the creation of a town plan for the future city.[1] On February 12, 1887, Tarpon Springs became the first incorporated city in what is now Pinellas County.[1] Less than a year later on January 13, 1888, the Orange Belt Railway, the first railroad line to be built in what is now Pinellas County, arrived in the city.[9] During this time the area was developed as a wintering spot for wealthy northerners.
The terrific environment comes with a rate, however. It can be rough on roofing systems. Our company prides itself on keeping your commercial roofing and residential roof in prime condition. If you require a new roofing, we will install it. If you require repair work, we will do a quality task. We continuously aim to enhance our capability as residential and commercial roofing professionals.

We offer trust, integrity, quality, and assurance. Lots of companies can offer you a roofing system, but very few can provide you the safe feeling that we do. Dealing with a quality roofing company minimizes your concern and permits you to focus on your work and your household.
House owner maintenance consists of cleaning the leaves and debris from the roof’s valleys and gutters. Particles in the valleys can trigger water to wick under the shingles and cause damage to the interior of the roofing system. Blocked gutter can trigger water to recede under the shingles on the eaves and cause damage, no matter the roofing material.
The finest method to preserve your roof is to remain off it. Likewise, seasonal changes in the weather are generally the most devastating forces. A leaky roofing can harm ceilings, walls and home furnishings. To protect buildings and their contents from water damage, roofing contractors repair work and set up roofs made of tar or asphalt and gravel; rubber or thermoplastic; metal; or shingles made of asphalt, slate, fiberglass, wood, tile, or other material.
There are two kinds of roofing systems: flat and pitched (sloped). Many business, industrial and apartment have flat or slightly sloping roofings. Most houses have pitched roofing systems. Some roofing contractors work on both types; others specialize. A lot of flat roofing systems are covered with numerous layers of products. Roofing contractors initially put a layer of insulation on the roof deck.
Next, they install partially overlapping layers of roof felt, a fabric filled in bitumen, over the surface. Roofing professionals utilize a mop to spread out hot bitumen over the surface area and under the next layer. This seals the joints and makes the surface area watertight. Roofing contractors duplicate these steps to construct up the wanted variety of layers, called plies. To use shingles, roofers first lay, cut, and tack 3-foot strips of roof felt lengthwise over the whole roof. Then, beginning with the bottom edge, they staple or nail overlapping rows of shingles to the roofing. Employees step and cut the felt and shingles to fit converging roof surfaces and to fit around vent pipes and chimneys.
Lastly, roofing contractors cover exposed nailheads with roof cement or caulking to prevent water leak. Roofing contractors who use tile, metal shingles or shakes follow a similar process. Some roofing professionals also water-proof and damp-proof masonry and concrete walls and floors. To prepare surfaces for waterproofing, they hammer and chisel away rough areas, or remove them with a rubbing brick, prior to applying a coat of liquid waterproofing substance.
When damp-proofing, they usually spray a bitumen-based finishing on interior or exterior surface areas. Asphalt is the most frequently utilized roofing product. Asphalt products include shingles, roll-roofing, built-up roof, and modified bitumen membranes. Asphalt shingles are generally the most typical and cost-effective option for residential roofing. They can be found in a variety of colors, shapes and textures.
Laminated shingles consist of more than one layer of tabs to supply additional thickness. Interlocking shingles are utilized to offer higher wind resistance. And big individual shingles usually are available in rectangle-shaped and hexagonal shapes. Roll-roofing items are usually used in residential applications, mostly for underlayments and flashings. They are available in 4 different types of product: smooth-surfaced, saturated felt, specialty-eaves flashings, and mineral-surfaced.
Smooth-surfaced products are used mostly as flashing to seal the roofing system at intersections and protrusions, and for offering extra deck protection at the roofing’s eaves and valleys. Saturated felt is utilized as an underlayment in between the roof deck and the roof material. Specialty-eaves flashings are typically used in climates where ice dams and water backups prevail.
BUR is utilized on flat and low-sloped roofs and includes several layers of bitumen and ply sheets. Parts of a BUR system include the roof deck, a vapor retarder, insulation, membrane, and surfacing product. A customized bitumen-membrane assembly consists of continuous plies of saturated felts, layered felts, fabrics or mats between which alternate layers of bitumen are applied, either surfaced or unsurfaced.
