FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being one of their most significant financial investments people typically have a many questions prior to coming to a conclusion , below are a number of the most common ones…
Unless you’re a trained roofing professional, most roofing jobs really should not be carried out yourself. Also remember that a large number of manufacturers of products used in the roof repair will not warranty those products unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the task. The other thing to keep in mind is that working on a roof can be very risky, so is it really worth endangering your health for you to save money?
It would be really good if we could give you a simple response to that question! However, there really is no single answer that fits all for every question like that. There are several different products available and each one has its own advantages and faults. To know which is the right roof for you, you really should have a contractor come and check out your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they see, your roof design, the climate you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It really depends upon the type of roof and what inspections are mandated. Also, bear in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we cannot work on particular days then this will add more time to the job. A small home could take about a week or so, whereas larger commercial projects might be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just make certain your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Since your roof is constantly subjected to the weather, it means your roof is going to diminish with time. The pace at which it degrades will depend on a variety of factors. Those include; the quality of the initial materials used as well as the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is maintained and the design of the roof. Most roofing companies will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but obviously that can never be guaranteed due to the above issues. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should not ever pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of taking off any protective materials that have been included to provide cover from the elements. In addition, you really should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they could also lower the life-span of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning professional, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will get rid of the unappealing algae and discoloration without damaging the tile or shingles.

More About Dunn Loring, VA
Dunn Loring is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. The population was 8,803 at the 2010 census.[3]
Dunn Loring, the earliest platted subdivision in Fairfax County and possibly the Commonwealth of Virginia, was founded in 1886. General William McKee Dunn and his wife Elizabeth Lanier Dunn purchased about 600 acres (2.4 km2) located on the Washington, Ohio and Western Railroad, now the Washington and Old Dominion Regional Trail, from L. B. Clarke and his wife on June 8, 1886. On September 22, 1886, the land was transferred to the Loring Land and Improvement Company, composed of General Dunn, then a retired Army brigadier general and former Judge Advocate General; George B. Loring, a former congressman and Commissioner of Agriculture; and George H. LeFetra, a Washington temperance hotel proprietor. The Town of Dunn Loring was advertised for residential sales in 1887. The Loring Land and Improvement Company built a railroad station and a post office, but shortly thereafter General Dunn died, and the development stagnated. During the Spanish–American War, the founding of Camp Russell A. Alger brought growth and prosperity to Dunn Loring, and among the troops trained at Camp Alger was the celebrated author-poet Carl Sandburg, after whom the present Sandburg Street was named. In 1912, Fairfax Shield McCandlish bought out the interests of the developers, consolidated parcels, and subdivided the land into its current platting. Following World War II, the area began to develop as part of Metropolitan Washington, D.C.[4]

Find out More Consider the roof as your house’s very first line of defense versus all the weather condition components. Naturally, over time the roofing starts to weaken from continued weather battering. A structurally sound roofing system does not collapse all at once but rather breaks down piece by piece along its weak lines. Roofing system inspections identify these weak spots early before they spread out and cause extreme damage to part or the entire roofing system.
Roof evaluations at regular periods root out roofing system problems prior to they can even manifest themselves; extending the life-span of your roof. Many homeowners just focus on their roofs when there is visible damage, such as leakages and structural failure. Truth is, with routine evaluation such issues are typically evaded.

Roofing system evaluations conserve you both money and time and are among the many fundamental roof upkeep practices. There are several aspects that can cause a roofing system’s condition to weaken with time. These are the impacts property owners are least conscious of since the indications are subtle and require time to show.: Weather aspects are the primary cause of roofing damage.
The weather condition slowly corrodes and erodes the roof material, and put pressure onto the roofing structure. Poor or lack of roofing upkeep practices such as cleaning, painting, mold elimination and snow scraping contribute to the wearing down of the roofing. Not all roofing specialists are as great as marketed. Due to lack of ability or simply carelessness, a roof is poorly installed, affecting its efficiency as a roof and its resilience to damage.
