FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Being one of their largest expenditures people always have a lotof questions before coming to a conclusion , listed here are a few of the most commonplace ones…

Unless you’re a qualified roofing professional, the majority of roofing tasks really should not be carried out yourself. Also keep in mind that a lot of manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those items unless a licensed professional carries out the task. Something else to keep in mind is that working on a roof can be very hazardous, so is it really worth endangering your health for you to save money?

It would be fantastic if we could give you a simple answer to this question! But there actually is no one answer fits all for each question like that. There are so many unique products available and each one has its own merits and faults. To determine which is the ideal roof for you, you should have an expert come and take a look at your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they see, the type of roof you have, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.

It really is dependent on the kind of roof and what evaluations are needed. Also, bear in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we can’t work on a number of days then this is going to add more time to the task. A small home might take about a week or so, whereas much larger industrial projects may be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just see to it your roofing company keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Considering that your roof is continuously subjected to the weather, it means your roof is going to break down over time. The pace at which it breaks down will be dependent on a range of factors. These include; the quality of the initial components used and the workmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the type of roof. Most roofing companies will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but obviously that can never be guaranteed due to the above factors. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of washing away any protective materials that have been included to offer shielding from the weather. On top of that, you should keep away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they could also diminish the life of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning specialist, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. This will remove the ugly algae and yellowing without ruining the tile or shingles.

General William McKee Dunn and his wife Elizabeth Lanier Dunn purchased about 600 acres (2.4 km2) located on the Washington, Ohio and Western Railroad, now the Washington and Old Dominion Regional Trail, from L. B. Clarke and his wife on June 8, 1886. On September 22, 1886, the land was transferred to the Loring Land and Improvement Company, composed of General Dunn, then a retired Army brigadier general and former Judge Advocate General; George B. Loring, a former congressman and Commissioner of Agriculture; and George H. LeFetra, a Washington temperance hotel proprietor. The Town of Dunn Loring was advertised for residential sales in 1887. In 1912, Fairfax Shield McCandlish bought out the interests of the developers, consolidated parcels, and subdivided the land into its current platting.
