FAQs
As one of their most significant financial investments people typically have a number of questions prior to coming to a conclusion , below are a number of the most common ones…
Unless you are a trained contractor, most roofing tasks really should not be undertaken yourself. Also always remember that a lot of manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a certified roofing contractor performs the job. The other thing to always remember is that working on a roof can be very dangerous, so is it really worth endangering your health so you can save money?
It would be great if we were able to give you a straight forward response to that question! However, there actually is no one answer that fits all for every question like that. There are a lot of different products readily available and each one will have its own benefits and faults. To figure out which is the best roof for your home, you should have a professional come and take a look at your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they see, the type of roof you have, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.
It actually depends upon the type of roof and what surveys are needed. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we cannot work on a number of days then this will definitely add time to the task. A small home might take around a week or so, while much larger commercial jobs could be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just ensure that your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Because your roof is constantly exposed to the weather, it means your roof is will break down with time. The pace at which it deteriorates will be dependent on a range of variables. Those include; the quality of the original materials that were used and the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the style of the roof. Most roofing companies will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but obviously that can never be guaranteed due to the above factors. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of washing away any covering materials that have been added to give shielding from the elements. Also, you should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they may also lower the life of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning professional, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will remove the unsightly algae and yellowing without destroying the tile or shingles.

Learn More Think about the roofing as the house’s first line of defense versus all the weather aspects. Naturally, over time the roofing starts to compromise from continued weather condition battering. A structurally sound roof does not fall apart simultaneously however rather falls apart piece by piece along its weak lines. Roofing system evaluations find these weak points early prior to they spread out and cause severe damage to part or the whole roofing.
Roof inspections at routine periods root out roof issues before they can even manifest themselves; extending the lifespan of your roof. Most house owners just pay attention to their roofings when there is noticeable damage, such as leaks and structural failure. Truth is, with routine examination such issues are generally averted.

Roof evaluations save you both money and time and are one of one of the most basic roofing maintenance practices. There are several aspects that can trigger a roofing’s condition to weaken with time. These are the impacts property owners are least aware of because the signs are subtle and take some time to show.: Weather elements are the primary cause of roofing damage.
The weather condition gradually rusts and wears down the roof product, and put pressure onto the roofing structure. Poor or lack of roofing system upkeep practices such as cleansing, painting, mold elimination and snow scraping add to the wearing down of the roofing system. Not all roof professionals are as good as advertised. Due to lack of ability or simply neglect, a roofing system is incorrectly set up, affecting its effectiveness as a roofing and its resilience to damage.
