FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being one of their most significant financial investments people usually have a plenty of questions prior to makingany decisions , below are a few of the more commonplace ones…
Unless you’re a qualified roofing professional, most roofing work should never be carried out yourself. In addition always remember that most manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those items unless a certified roofing contractor performs the work. Something else to bear in mind is that working on a roof could be very risky, so is it really worth risking your health for you to save money?
It would be fantastic if we could give you a simple response to that question! But there really is no one answer fits all for each question like that. There are plenty of unique products readily available and each and every one will have its own advantages and faults. To know which is the best roof for your home, you should have a contractor come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they have seen, the type of roof you have, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.
It definitely depends on the kind of roof you have and exactly what inspections are required. Also, bear in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on a number of days then this will add more time to the task. A smaller home could take about a week or so, while much larger commercial projects might be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just be sure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Due to the fact that your roof is continually subjected to the outside elements, this means your roof is will degrade over time. The rate at which it degrades will depend on a number of factors. These include; the quality of the original materials used as well as the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is preserved and the design of the roof. Most roofing professionals will quote around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but that can never be promised because of the above issues. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of getting rid of any protective minerals that have been added to offer cover from the weather. In addition, you should avoid chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they can also decrease the lifespan of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning expert, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will clear away the aesthetically displeasing algae and yellowing without destroying the tile or shingles.
