Dolphins are often regarded as friendly but are wild animals that should be respected and treated with caution. Dolphin behavior can be affected by interactions with humans. They are easy targets for shark attack and vandalism because they lose their natural wariness.

Fin Whale. The fin whale, which is only second to the great blue whale in size, is the largest living whale. It can reach 88 feet and weigh up to 76 tons. This makes it the largest of all the marine species of Gulf of Mexico.

To satisfy their curiosity, dolphins will sometimes swim alongside boats. The wake from a boat can cause a significant disturbance to the water's surface, which dolphins may feel the need for investigation. Dolphins will often jump out of water to investigate the wake, making it appear that they are playing in it.
