Admit it. You fell in love with Minka Kelly at the end of 500 Days of Summer. Not only that, you actually believed you had a shot with her (don't feel embarrassed, you're not alone). If only she wasn't dating that Derek Jeter fella. If only she was single....

Well, your chance has finally come. Just Jared has confirmed that Minka Kelly and Derek Jeter have ended their three-year relationship, citing sources that say "the split was amicable."

But really, is this so shocking? In Hollywood -- a town where "superficial" is a complimentary term -- a three-year relationship is an eternity. We're not being cynical; we've got facts to back us up. Let's take a look at the celebrity split-ups that made the headlines in the past few years:

Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez - "I can't believe it / I didn't see it / Oh but I feel it" sang Marc Anthony in his (only?) hit song "You Sang to Me." One can imagine this was how he reacted when J.Lo kicked him to the curb. However, the couple told People their upcoming divorce was "an amicable conclusion" to their relationship.
Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy - We have to admit, this one stung a little. With his stream of super successful comedies, and her stunning run on MTV's Singled Out. Jim and Jenny were the king of queen of the 90s. When they got together in the mid-00s, it was like a Pearl Jam/Nirvana double-bill concert of love. When they split up last year, it was like the day we heard Beavis and Butthead were going off the air. Hopefully, like that show's titular characters, they'll be reuniting soon.
Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson - Yes, Green Lantern and the Black Widow were once husband and wife. That is, until they divorced "amicably" (there's that word again) earlier this year. She soon rebounded with Sean Penn, but, like a smile on Sean Penn's miserable mug, that ended fast.
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel - These A-list lovers are an inspiration to broken-hearted couples worldwide. After ending their relationship this past March, Yahoo reported that the two have been seen sharing tacos together in Toronto. Let the wedding bells ring!
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver - Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger lived the American dream: he came here as an immigrant, built a fortune, married a Kennedy, fathered a love child with a member of his household staff... Wait, what? Hasta la vista, respectability.
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett - Let's end on a happy note: earlier this week rumors surfaced that the parents' of the new Karate Kid and Annie were throwing in the towel. The couple soon told US, however, that their marriage was "intact." Perhaps there's hope for Hollywood after all.
