A few weeks back, I wrote repeatedly about WWE's failure to
fully get behind CM Punk and treat him like the face of the company, as they
insisted on beginning and ending the show with John Cena storylines even after
Punk won the WWE Title. WWE has shown a marked improvement on that front
though, as they have increasingly looked to Punk to carry the crucial moments
of Raw, as they did this week, having
him appear in the first and final segments. Sure, he was joined by John Cena,
and I would have preferred, oh I don't know, some actual wrestling as opposed
to 10 minutes of recap, but still, nice to see the promotion putting Punk front
and center.
