Thriller

Quantum of Solace

Release date: November 8, 2008

The Pitch:

Revenge-minded James Bond uncovers a plot to seize control of Bolivia's water supply.

Why You Need It:

After nearly a decade of aimless flailing around, the James Bond franchise got a much-needed shot in the arm with the casting of Daniel Craig as the new 007. Rewinding back to Bond's early days in MI6 lets the filmmakers get rid of all the goofy baggage of the previous films while focusing on what makes 007 the greatest spy we've ever known. Craig's second outing is tense and compelling from start to finish - it's a Bond film that both relies on and competes with its own franchise, creating an exciting revisionist atmosphere. You also get Olga Kurylenko and Gemma Arterton as two of the hottest Bond babes ever.

Talent:

Marc Forster (director), Daniel Craig, Olga Kurylenko, Judi Dench, Gemma Arterton, Mathieu Amalric, Giancarlo Giannini, Jeffrey Wright.

Ursula Andress as Honey Ryder
