Taken

Release date: January 30, 2009

The Pitch:

White slave traders make the worst mistake of their lives when they kidnap a CIA operative's daughter.

Why You Need It:

It's every parent's worst nightmare - knowing that something horrible is happening to your child and having no recourse to deal with it. Luckily, retired CIA agent Bryan Mills has recourse, and it comes in the form of extreme violence. Taken takes its time getting started, but once Mills is in Paris hunting down his daughter, the flick gets tense and Liam Neeson does an admirable job selling the portrayal of a father who just won't stop until he makes everything right. In fact, though the supporting cast is quite good, Taken is essentially a one-man show - and Neeson pulls it off and then some.

Talent:

Pierre Morel (director), Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen, Maggie Grace, Xander Berkeley, Katie Cassidy, Olivier Rabourdin, Holly Valance, Leland Orser.

Taken: World's Bestest Dad

Liam Neeson is everything a kidnapped daughter could hope for.
