Release date: July 24, 1998
The new kid in town discovers a doctor's dark methods in turning unruly teenagers into upstanding citizens.
One of the most underappreciated and misunderstood horror-thrillers of the past 20 years, Disturbing Behavior is basically a feature-length above-average X Files episode - sans Mulder and Scully, of course. Entertaining, absurd and creepy, just like the best of the X Files, with a great Mark Snow score and a scene-stealing performance by Nick Stahl as the cool outsider destined to not be so cool anymore. You also get Katie Holmes as the sexy bad girl long before she became Mrs. Tom Cruise. Be sure to check out the deleted and extended scenes - there's a whole other movie that ended up on the cutting room floor, and most definitely a better one.
David Nutter (director), James Marsden, Katie Holmes, Nick Stahl, Bruce Greenwood, William Sadler, Ethan Embry, Tobias Mehler, Steve Railsback, Katharine Isabelle.
