General Thade is the brilliant but rather vicious and cruel General of the Army of Apes. A skilled tactician who performs his job with a seething brutality, Thade is a fearsome military man (or ape, rather), showing little mercy to the vagabond humans he delights in sweeping up and putting in cages. Thade also lusts after the beautiful Ari, a lady ape who's sympathetic to humans and who has no interest in the bullying alpha male. Thade finds his way of life threatened with the arrival of Captain Leo Davidson, a man who fell from the sky and the possible savior of the human race. It is Davidson who leads an uprising against the Apes, and it is Thade who vows to take him down at any cost.
