Stathis Borans. Just say it out loud: "Stathis Borans." You know someone with a name like that is definitely a little shady. Stathis is the editor-in-chief of the popular science magazine, Particle, and the ex-boyfriend of journalist Veronica Quaife. Stathis has a lot of nerve - at one point he lets himself into Veronica's apartment (he still has a key, apparently) and she comes home to find him taking a damn shower. However, when Veronica's new fella, the brilliant scientist Seth Brundle, starts mutating into a giant human-insect hybrid, Stathis steps up to the plate and crashes the poor bastard's lab, armed with a rifle and ready to rescue the damsel from the monster. Stathis loses a hand and a foot to Brundlefly's acidic bile, but he manages to fire off a round when it really counts, severing the connection between the two Telepods that will merge Brundlefly, Veronica and their unborn child into one body (in theory, anyway).
