Rebecca 'Newt' Jorden was the only survivor of the initial alien attack on the Hadley's Hope settlement on Acheron LV-426. Her mother, father and brother were all brutally killed by the aliens - Newt was found hiding in a ventilation shaft weeks later by Ellen Ripley and a team of U.S. Marines. Soon, Ripley and Newt develop a strong mother-daughter bond, a relationship cut mercilessly short when, after surviving the events on LV-426, Newt dies in her cryo chamber after crash landing on the prison planet, Fiorina 'Fury' 161. Ripley fears that Newt was impregnated by an alien during cryosleep and convinces the prison planet's medical officer, Jonathan Clemens, to perform an autopsy, claiming there is a possibility of a cholera infection. Newt is later cremated with Corporal Dwayne Hicks.
