Father Joseph Fitzgerald Crissman was defrocked from the priesthood after being convicted of pedophilia - and enters the strange and dangerous world of retired FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully when he starts receiving psychic visions of a missing FBI agent, visions he claims come from God. After visiting the kidnapped agent's home, Father Joe's eyes begin to bleed, which sparks Mulder's interest in the case all the more. After a second woman is abducted, the FBI once again recruits Father Joe for help, and the former priest leads them to a snow-covered field that ends up being a frozen burial ground filled with body parts. After the ever-skeptical Scully confronts Father Joe about his "visions," he suffers from a seizure and is admitted to the hospital, where Scully learns he is suffering from advanced lung cancer. Before Father Joe loses his battle to the disease, he shares one final vision, one that's just for Scully... and might save Mulder's life.
