Etta Place is best known as the companion of Robert LeRoy Parker, aka Butch Cassidy, and Henry Longabaugh, aka the Sundance Kid, two members of the outlaw gang known as the Wild Bunch. Etta was primarily Sundance's love interest, and she fled with him and Cassidy to South America when the law started getting a little too close for comfort. While Butch and Sundance met their demise in Bolivia, Etta's ultimate fate remains a mystery, though it has been speculated that a bordello owner in Fort Worth, Texas named Eunice Gray might have actually been Etta Place - either way, she took that secret to the grave when she died in 1962.
