Of all the failure video I watched in 2010, nothing had me rewinding and rewatching quite like this. When Claire Champlin hunkered down to participate in one of The Amazing Race's trademark challenges, she quickly found herself ensconced in fail history.
The concept was simple: load watermelons into a giant slingshot, pull them back, fire them at suits of armor. We do it every day. But Champlin's shot backfired intensely, with the melon not leaving the rubber until it was already on its way back at her face. The resultant fruitsplosion was a thing of beauty and horror.
Claire and her partner Brooke actually made it to the end of the competition, but wound up finishing second. Too bad!
