One half-hour of superhero action isn’t enough for most of us, but thankfully DVD has let us while away hours upon hours of watching our favorite heroes beat on the bad guys.
He does whatever a spider can, and he did it for 52 episodes in the late '60s. Spider-man faced off against all the big enemies at the time in this classic flashback, even if the animation is a little primitive. For all you Spider-fans, the entire three-season series is out on DVD for around 50 bucks.
The game-changer series that has influenced almost every superhero cartoon that's come after it, Batman: TAS showed that superhero cartoons could be true to their roots without resorting to comic relief and battles in space. All seasons are available on DVD, but the full series was put out in limited release. $37.49
Ben Edlund's hero stomped through three seasons of jokes, action, and a cast of minor characters as large as a mountain, although only two incomplete seasons have been released in the US (all three available in the UK). The series was a fan-favorite, although the live-action version left much to be desired. $22.99
