It’s a week of newbies and old...bies. (???) Legion and Daybreakers represent the new school, Karate Kid and History of the World Part I represent the old school, and Shin-Chan represents the grammar school.
Follow the hilarious exploits of some of the whackiest vampires you’ll ever see as they frolic through the countryside looking for their human buddies so they can all finish that unruly game of Monopoly they didn’t finish at last week’s Game Night! Psych!!! This ain’t no situational comedy. This s*** is dark. Vampires and vampirism have overcome the Earth, humans are close to extinction, and the blood suckers need their cattle to survive. The most satisfying thing about this movie isn’t the plot to Blade: Trinity taken to its logical end; it’s the way the humans get a little payback in the end. Worth every Willem Dafoe one-liner in this flick. $24.99
Part I featured one of the best power ballads and one of the best training montage songs in the history of movies. Part II featured one of the best down-and-dirty, bare-knuckle martial arts fights in the history of movies. Part III was substandard in every aspect except for its rock-climbing. Guess that’s why it’s not in this boxed set. Collect the two Karate Kid movies that matter before Jaden Smith shows us what the Karate Kid’s life was like as a toddler. Also, the new movie is all about kung fu (“karate” isn’t mentioned once in the trailer), so to hell with all that noise. $27.96
