Phil who? The classic Hobgoblin might not have a sonic scream or flaming sword, but he's the one worth mentioning on the list. Roderick Kingsley's identity as the villain remained a mystery as he would use his intellect and resources to have others take the fall for him. Kingsley perfected the goblin serum, granting him superhuman stats while avoiding the insanity side-effects Norman and Harry suffered. In a smart move other villains should consider, Roderick took his wealth and left to enjoy a life of bliss on a tropical island. However, Kingpin must have made one hell of an offer, because he was recently back in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man as Hobgoblin. Unfortunately for him, intellect and strength proved no match for Phil's obnoxious yell directly in his face, and then a flaming sword to the neck.
