PopCap somehow managed to prove that you can cram both cute and frightening into one game... and have it be uber-successful. Plants vs. Zombies takes addictive tower defense gameplay mechanics and makes them extremely simple, accessible and fun to play with, making the zombies in the game a threat for you and your shrubbery.

In the history of tower defense games, first there was Desktop Tower Defense and then came Fieldrunners. Defend Your Castle
Defend Your Castle takes a slightly different approach to castle defense on a few separate levels. First off, the player is more involved in the actual extermination of the attackers by flicking them off the screen. Secondly, it has one of the most unique, and uncharacteristic styles you'll find in a tower defense game. Seriously, how many other games can say that they used buttons for the heads of their characters? That's right -- like none.
