T he cover boy the issue before his appearance was the prince of NASCAR Dale Earnhardt Jr. The cover boy after his appearance was Cincinatti Bengals bad boy receiver Chad Johnson. It's safe to say that MMA had arrived as a mainstream sport, and Kimbo Slice was leading the charge from obscurity.
Prior to Kimbo, the only other fighter to appear on the cover of ESPN: The Magazine was UFC legend Chuck Liddell. Randy Couture was never on the cover of a major magazine. But instant success and celebrity isn't giving the street fighter a big head."Well, I look at it like this. Those type of things are more for the fans than anybody, and I continue to concentrate on my training and what I have to do." Kimbo said. "I know what is at stake here and I know what it means to me you know, so to take a few minutes or an hour out of my time you know that's fine, that's cool."
