We list the Best Wrestling Faces in wrestling history

The core of wrestling is a very basic battle between good and evil, with rule-breaking heels and virtuous faces squaring off in a physical battle for supremacy. We previously compiled a list of the most influential heels in grappling history, but there can be no yin without a yang, so we went back to the well and combed through hour after hour of wrestling footage from the earliest era of the sport to the modern day to create this companion list of the 50 greatest babyfaces the world of sports entertainment has ever known. This list sees the job of the good guy evolve from the Lou Thesz era of amateur grapplers to the Rock & Wrestling era, where charisma and exaggeration replaced technical skill, and on through the Attitude Era, where the boundary between face and heel blurred forever. Ready to rumble? Let's get to it.

Rey Mysterio

When you think of a natural-born babyface, you should think of Rey Mysterio Jr. The masked luchador is the smallest man to ever hold the WWE Heavyweight Championship, and even with his knees thoroughly destroyed by over a decade of high-flying action, he still hasn't lost a step. After making his debut in Mexico, Mysterio accompanied Eddie Guerrero to ECW, where he won over the promotion's notorious 'mutant' fans with his amazing moves. Quickly signing to WCW, Mysterio toiled as an undercard babyface in feuds with Guerrero and Chris Jericho, even losing his trademark mask in a match with Kevin Nash of all people. Once he signed to the WWE, the mask went back on (unheard of in Lucha Libre circles) and he went on to become the company's ambassador to the Hispanic audience, pulling out amazing wins against much larger opponents.
