Best Midcard Wrestlers

We list the Best Midcard Wrestlers in wrestling history

Everybody gets into wrestling wanting to be a star but not everybody can pull it off. It's just the law of averages. For every Hulk Hogan or John Cena, there needs to be twenty more wrestlers working the rest of the card, diligently trying to develop their characters and pull together some semblance of a fanbase so they can make the argument that they deserve to take it to the next level. Unfortunately, most of the brave souls who step into the ring never get that shot. In this feature, we went through the history of pro grapplings in this country and wrote up fifty of the talents who never broke through the glass ceiling, for any number of reasons. Some died young, some retired old, and some may still have a shot in the future. These are UGO's Best Midcard Wrestlers.

Kamala

The Ugandan Giant was one of those physically imposing wrestlers who a victory over was seen as a true accomplishment, even though his own win-loss record was less than impressive. But would it shock you to know that the man behind the facepaint was born in Mississippi and once wrestled under the ring name "Sugar Bear?" To make up for his limited interview skills and lack of technical ability, Jerry Lawler dressed the man who would be Kamala in a loincloth and painted his face with designs he swiped out of an old National Geographic, and the wrestling savage was born. Managed by the masked Kim Chee, Kamala feuded with the Undertaker, Jake Roberts and other stars, nearly always coming out the loser. In between, he would squash jobbers to get his heat back, like every good midcarder should.
