DMX - Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood

DMX was unafraid to analyze and rap about the scariest most unexplored places inside us all. In fact, he resided there. Proof positive was his works of '98: It's Dark and Hell Is Hot and Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood which stand as the only two releases by the same artists to both debut at number one in the same year. As disturbing as DMX's emotion filled tangents, stick up accounts and of course, the canine inspired yelps were to us, we were still mesmerized. And we also reveled in his hyper, chant filled anthems that were built for subwoofers, dance floors and sports stadiums. The Dog's sporadic personalities have crossed streams in various ways with unfortunate outcomes in his personal life. But during his heyday surrounding the turn of the century, there was no topping the many faces of DMX. And that is why he remains a study in the love and loyalty that coexists with the pain and carnage of the streets.
