The man Robert Christgau has dubbed "R&B Jesus" has a string of unforgettable hits under his belt, but for the purposes of this feature we're going to laser in on just one - the massive smash Untitled (How Does It Feel), a tribute to one of his major influences, the purple funk lord Prince. The video, featuring molasses-slow pans over a nude D'Angelo, was a massive (if controversial) hit. Although you never actually see anything from the hips down, the video generated enough buzz to be nominated for four VMAs and the song climbed to #25 on the Billboard Hot 100.
