I'm not going to deny Lou Reed his contributions to rock & roll, both with the Velvet Underground and solo, but his '86 album Mistrial is one of the most ridiculously embarrassing things ever.
Not helping is the presence of single "The Original Wrapper," which features Lou reducing his already minimal singing style to abstrusely claim that he is "the original rapper." It's insanely corny and marked the nadir of his career.
