The Spider-Man who was and the Spider-Man who almost was may star together in the same film. Tobey Maguire (who was) and Jake Gyllenhaal (who nearly replaced Maguire in the second movie) are in talks to star in an English remake of the 2004 Danish movie Brothers for director Jim Sheridan (who helmed the 50 Cent topper Get Rich or Die Tryin' but is better known for his dramas like My Left Foot and In America). Maguire would play a soldier who is sent off to Afghanistan to fight while Gyllenhall would play his not-as-well-liked brother who promises to look after his brother's family. Relativity Media is financing the picture (they just recouped their money on 3:10 to Yuma) and David Benioff (Troy, Wolverine) is writing the script. Relativity wants to have the movie rolling in front of cameras by November.
