In recent years, Paui Rudd has become increasingly well-known for his work as a straight man, giving (relatively) grounded comedic performances in flicks like Dinner for Schmucks, Knocked Up and even Role Models to a degree. But fans of Rudd's wackier work in films such as Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and Wet Hot American Summer have been sorely underserved.

With Our Idiot Brother though, Rudd appears to be stepping back into the funny man role, albeit in a bit more down-to-earth comedy. Rudd plays a remarkably stupid character who gets arrested for selling weed to a uniformed police officer and then passed around between his three sisters, played by Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer.

THIS is the Paul Rudd we want to see.

In addition to the folks above, the movie also features British comedian Steve Coogan of Hamlet 2 "fame," and Rashida Jones as Deschanel's lesbian lover. So, you know, fingers crossed for hot make-out action, we guess. The film's director, Jesse Peretz, has worked on a few different feature projects, but is best known by wistful 20-somethings as the former bass player for the Lemonheads and more importantly, the guy who directed that wacky Foo Fighters video that looked like a Mentos commercial.

Check out the trailer for the new flick below (or check here if it gets pulled), and if you're too much of an idiot to know what to think about it, head on over to UGO's review from this year's Sundance. Don't get confused though: It WAS called My Idiot Brother, but NOW it's called Our Idiot Brother. Call one of your three super-sexy sisters if you need some help figuring it out.
