The folks of at Universal Pictures have announced that Tony Gilroy -- who had previously written all three Jason Bourne films -- has been tapped to write the fourth installment of the franchise, The Bourne Legacy.
Comingsoon.net -- which broke the news yesterday -- also reports that Gilroy will be writing a "franchise bible," and that the script will be based on the book of the same name from Robert Ludlum's Bourne series in title only.
Meanwhile, fans of the Bourne series of films are still waiting to see if franchise star Matt Damon will once again reprise his role in the fourth installment, given that the actor has publicly stated that he'd only return if director Paul Greengrass (who called the shots on The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum) agreed to return as well.
