While out promoting the British release of Stardust, director Matthew Vaughn also let slip his plans for Thor, his next project. Based on the Marvel Comics version of the Norse god, Vaughn told a reporter for the Daily Mail that his plans are to film the live-action Thor in Britain. "We have the A-list actors, designers, cinematographers and crew in Britain, so there's no need to make Thor among all that madness in Los Angeles," Vaughn is quoted as saying.
The plan is for Thor to roll in front of cameras about a year from now and hopefully well after the current Writers Guild strike is over. No cast members have been hired for the production.
While only pulling in $38 million dollars domestically, Vaughn's Stardust has netted $89 M overseas.
