Aside from John Woo's flame-and-dove-heavy second film, the Mission: Impossible series has been a pretty solid franchise, as both the first and third movies were high-octane, adrenaline-pumping theater experiences. Judging from the new teaser trailer, the fourth film, Mission: Imposisble - Ghost Protocol, looks to be hewing pretty closely to what's become a winning formula: Tom Cruise and his floppy-hair get double-crossed, he gets a team of badasses together, they blow pretty much everything up and Tom Cruise finds himself on the wrong side of a tall building while we hear a variation on the classic Mission: Impossible theme.
Ghost Protocol also has some new stuff going for it though, as it's the first live action film helmed by Brad Bird, the revered director of The Incredibles and The Iron Giant. Also, Cruise is joined by a decent cast including Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Josh "Sawyer" Holloway and a returning Ving Rhames. Check out the bomb-ass trailer below, unless you don't happen to like quick, nigh incomprehensible cuts, in which case, we hear panties are on sale down at Victoria's Secret.
