It's a rainy news day here in the booth.

The Projection Booth 4/21/09

Good morning, Projectioneers. It's been raining for two days straight here in New York and I just don't have enough plaid shirts and grunge CDs to handle it. Last night I saw the festival hit Julia which featured a drunken Tilda Swinton as the world's worst kidnapper. Imagine Fargo, but without the jokes. Let's take a look at today's news.

  • Dan Brown, whose puzzle-ridden blashphemies were turned into soporific snorefest The Da Vinci Code by Akiva Goldsman and Ron Howard, has announced the title of his third Robert Langdon novel. It will be called, quite bluntly, The Lost Symbol. It will be in stores on Sept 15 and Sony/Columbia already have the rights. Howard's crack at Angels & Demons comes out May 15. Signs point to it being better than The Da Vinci Code. There's no way it can be worse. More at Variety.

  • Christian Bale is a fighter! That's my cheesy New York Post headline of the day. The Fighter, a long-gestating project, once in the hands of Darren Aronofsky who moved on to the similarly titled The Wrestler, is now being set up with Bale and love-him-or-hate-him director David O. Russell. More at Variety.

  • Any fool can stalk celebs on Twitter. The real hot schnazz is to find them on World of Warcraft. Asylum has your map to the stars for all your WOW-stalking needs.  You'll be surprised who's on there.

  • CinemaBlend blends Star Trek and breakfast. Grab a bowl and enjoy!

  • ToplessRobot has the 12 most awesome Masters of the Universe action figures. But does Man-E-Faces count as more than one?

  • Edgy, shmedgie. That's the vibe I get from Sam Raimi and Spider-Man 4. In this interview with SciFiWire he makes it clear he's gonna' continue doing things his way.

  • JoBlo begins its countdown of the Top High School Dicks. I can't believe Chris Radtke isn't on this list.

  • Dig this blog and its hats off to movie poster artist Richard Amsel. Ming never looked so Merciless.

  • Today, our That Guy of the Day is especially loaded with, "Oh, yeah, That Guy!"
