Primrose (or Prim for short) is selected for The Hunger Games on her first eligible year, but is thrown out when her older sister Katniss volunteers in her place. Katniss in a way raised and protected Prim after their father died and their mother spaced out. While Katniss has a knack for the hunt, Prim is a healer of sorts; she learned healing techniques from her mother over the years and assists District 12 residents with ailments when she can.
