So, Spider-Man has super strength, web shooters, super agility, the ability to stick to walls, spider-sense, and fantastic healing and reflexes. The one new power he seems to have, however, is to be able to provide so many people with employment, thus eventually ending the financial crisis and unemployment hell we have today! Why do I say this? Well, according to MTV (via Variety), Gary Ross (Seabiscuit) has been brought on to do his treatment of a draft on Spider-Man 4.
David Lindsay-Abaire and James Vanderbilt had each been hired for the same job earlier, so with Gary Ross I don't expect this to be the last. By my estimates, Spider-Man 4 will come out in 2017, will have had 468 writers, and will have enabled 1846 more people to eat three square meals a day until then. Beyond that, 921 of the writers' kids will have gone through college (on Spidey's dime), with 74 of them going on to write their drafts of Spider-Man 5. Oh, and I predict the final draft of SM4 will be done by Sam and Ivan Raimi and will involve The Lizard and Slyde, negating the need for any of these writers to begin with. You don't remember Slyde? He was this guy who was pretty much covered in Teflon from head to toe and just slid everywhere.
